The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team lost to No. 1 Daytona State College 2-0 on Saturday night at Orlando Health Stadium.
The Titans, who are ranked sixth in the NJCAA Division I national poll, Eastern Florida State College goalkeeper Lira Adamski and the defense held the Falcons in check the first half as the two teams headed to halftime tied 0-0.
The Titans had a couple of chances offensively but the Falcons came out in the second half aggressively and it paid off 16 minutes into the second half when Risako Abe found herself open and tucked the ball past Adamski and into the right side of the net.
Up 1-0, Daytona State College continued to press and eight minutes later Susu Roberts hit a shot from outside the box that floated out of Adamski's reach and into the corner of the net.
Eastern Florida State College, who falls to 3-2 overall and 0-2 in the Region 8 Conference, will be back at home Wednesday night for a conference game against Miami Dade College. Wednesday's game will begin at 7 p.m. at Orlando Health Stadium and admission is free. Fans can watch the game live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
