The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team fell to Miami Dade College Wednesday night at Titan Field House.
The Titans rallied late but could not get the lead as Miami Dade College picked up the 79-72 victory.
The first half was a close battle and actually took the lead 33-32 on a Sean Register Jr. basket with 1:03 left. But Miami Dade would hold a 34-33 lead at halftime.
Early in the second half the Titans took the lead once again on a Djiby Ly 3-pointer but Miami Dade would go on a key 6-0 run and kept the lead the rest of the way.
A couple of free throws by Misael Cruz Rodriguez cut the lead to three with 2:06 remaining but the Sharks hit their free throws down the stretch to pick up the victory.
Register Jr. had another double-double in the game for the Titans, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. It was the freshman's seventh double-double of the season.
Acevedo-Arroyo also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds while Tyson Wilson finished with 11 points.
Anthony Breland led the Sharks with 23 points while Leeroy Nijean had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. David Verstraeten scored 19 points in the win.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Santa Fe College on Saturday for a Citrus Conference game at 4 p.m. game.
