Tommy Romero drafted in 15th round by Seattle Mariners

Eastern Florida State College pitcher Tommy Romero was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 15^th round of the Major League Baseball Draft.

Romero finished his sophomore season as the FCSAA Pitcher of the Year after helping guide the Titans to 31 wins and a trip to the state tournament.

Romero led NJCAA Division I baseball in strikeouts with 136 and was fifth ERA with a 1.13 earned run average. His nine wins was tied for 22^nd in the nation.

The sophomore finished with a 13.91 strikeout per nine rate and struck out at least 10 hitters in nine of his 14 regular-season starts this season.

The Ft. Lauderdale native was also recently named the Region 8 Pitcher of the Year.
