Dr. Bruce Thomas
Dr. Bruce Thomas has been the team physician for Eastern Florida State College since 2003. The Melbourne sports medicine physician works closely with EFSC's two athletic trainers to ensure the well-being of the Titans 160 student-athletes. Dr. Thomas has a deep background in sports medicine. He is Senior Medical Consultant and Spring Training Team Physician for Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals and is the Medical Director of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).
He was previously the Head Team Physician for the then-Montreal Expos, and moved with the franchise to Washington D.C. where he served as the Washington Nationals' first Head Team Physician. He earned a World Series ring with the Florida Marlins (now Miami Marlins) in 1997.
Dr. Thomas also has served as a venue physician for the World Baseball Classic in Tokyo, Japan (2006, 2009) and Taipei, Taiwan (2013). He's been a member of the U.S Olympic medical team, a consulting physician for USA Wrestling, and a consulting physician for the China National Baseball Team through the Beijing Olympics.
