The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team picked up a victory against No. 11 Monroe Community College Friday night in New York.
The No. 20 ranked Titans dominated play early in the second half and Avery Bracher scored the game winner with 32 minutes and 40 seconds left in the game.
Eastern Florida State College scored first as Thea Patuel hit a corner kick right to the middle of the net and Rebecca Barros finished to make it 1-0 in the 38th minute.
Monroe Community College would tie the game with under 20 minutes left in the first half as Sam Cipolla scored her 13th goal of the season. The Tribunes took the lead with just under two minutes left in the first half as Ariadna Corral Sanchez broke free and scored.
But with nine seconds left the Titans earned a penalty kick and Aoife Farral stepped up and buried it as the Titans headed to halftime tied 2-2.
Bracher's goal came on her first shot of the game as the Titans came out in the second half and pressured the Tribunes defense. It was Bracher's eighth goal of the season as the Titans finished with 16 shots, 12 coming in the second half.
Goalkeeper Lira Adamski made a couple of big saves to keep the lead in the second half and finished with eight saves in the win.
Eastern Florida State College will have Saturday off in New York before facing Montgomery College at noon on Sunday at Monroe Community College. They will be back home Wednesday night for a conference game against Polk State College at Orlando Health Stadium. The game will begin at 7 p.m.
