The Eastern Florida State College women's cross country team will compete in the FSU XC Invite Friday morning in Tallahassee.
The Titans will be one of 40 teams from NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NAIA and junior colleges competing in a 6K race at 8:20 a.m. at Apalachee Regional Park.
"It is a great course, it doesn't run slow. The kids know it almost everyone has run it," Eastern Florida State College women's cross country coach Doug Butler said. "It is a 6K race and we don't really race 6K ever so they are a bit concerned. I told them it's an extra three minutes so don't sweat it."
In the Titans first meet of the season in Huntsville, Alabama, Rori Pandolfini, Malinda Underwood and Aubrey Orcutt paced the women's team against a big field. They will look to do the same on Friday morning.
"The top three are really good then we have a bit of a drop off, we need to cut into that gap and work together to stay with the other pack," Butler said. "We are only going to be as good as the last runners."
The race will mark the halfway point of the regular season for the women's team.
