The Eastern Florida State College women's tennis team played three tough matches at the Pensacola Invitational over the weekend.
The Titans opened the weekend with a 9-0 victory over Harford Community College, who is the No. 24 team in the ITA NJCAA Women's Tennis rankings.
In doubles matches, Josephine Karcher and Katharina Drebka won No. 1 doubles 8-3, while Armelle Cerdan and Filda Badi won 8-0 at No. 2 and Giulianna Hull and Jamie Duque won 8-0 in No. 3 doubles.
In singles matches, Cerdan, Karcher, Drebka, Badi, Hull and Duque all picked up straight set wins.
The Titans lost tight 5-4 matches against No. 5 Seward County Community College and No. 9 Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
Against Seward, Cerdan and Badi won the No. 2 doubles match 9-8 (6) while Drebka and Hull combined to win No. 3 doubles 8-4. Karcher and Badi picked up wins in singles.
Against ABAC, the team of Cerdan and Badi once again picked up a win at No. 2 doubles while Cerdan, Drebka and Hull won singles matches.
