Women's tennis team fares well in Texas
The Eastern Florida State College women's tennis team finished 3-1 in the Collin College Super Bash over the weekend
The Eastern Florida State College women's tennis team fared well in the Collin College Super Bash over the weekend.
The team finished 3-1 as a team against some of the best teams in the country, beating No. 6 Seminole State College 7-2, No. 4 Cowley County Community College 8-1 and No. 11 Collin County Community College 9-0. The only loss came to No. 1 Tyler Junior College. The team did it behind the strong play in doubles as the team went 9-3 in the four matches.
The No. 1 team of Luisa Varon and Josephine Karcher posted three of those wins while the duo of Giulianna Hull and Brenda Aguilar picked up two wins at No. 2 doubles and another at No. 3, coming back to post the 9-7 win against Collin College.
Karcher also won three of her four singles matches in the tournament.
The women's tennis team will hit the road for a couple of matches this week, beginning with a road match against the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Wednesday and then travel to St. Petersburg College on Friday.
