Titans fall in final regular-season match

The final match of the regular season didn't go the way the Eastern Florida State College women's tennis team hoped it would Saturday.

The No. 14 Titans lost 7-2 on the road to No. 6 Broward College.

EFSC finished the regular season 10-9 and 4-8 in Florida College System Activities Association Athletics Region 8 play.

Sophomore Nicole Trio won her singles match by default at No. 4 and the EFSC No. 3 doubles team of Ann-Kathrin Zilles and Ana Cristina Orozco defeated Broward's Natalie Hernandez and Emilia Dobkowska 8-6 to account for the Titans' two wins.

EFSC will take part in the Florida College System Activities Association Athletics Region 8 tournament on Friday and Saturday at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs.

The top three teams will advance to the national tournament.
