Barreras receives Balon De Oro goalkeeper award

Former Eastern Florida State College women's soccer player Estheffanny Barreras received the Balon De Oro top goalkeeper award of the 2025-26 season in Liga MX Femenil.

Barreras allowed just three goals and made 44 saves for Club de Futbol Pachuca this past season in 18 matches. She helped Pachuca win the program's first professional league title in Mexico.  The team had finished second the past three seasons in the Liga BBVA MX Femenil.

Barrerras came to Eastern Florida State College in 2015 and started 15 games in the goal for the Titans. She made 39 saves and allowed 10 goals as the Titans went 17-1 including a perfect 12-0 in Region 8.

Barrerras and the Titans went to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament championship game, falling in the final 1-0 to Iowa Central.

Barreras went on to play for the Mexican National Team and has been a member of the squad ever since.
