The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team lost to No. 1 Daytona State College 5-1 in a road conference game on Saturday night.
The Titans, who are ranked 19th in the national poll wrapped up the regular season 8-4-1 overall and 2-4 in the Region 8 Conference, lost to the Falcons 5-1 in the conference matchup. Eastern Florida State College will now head to the Region 8 Tournament with the semifinals scheduled for Thursday at Miami Dade College. The championship game will be on Saturday at Miami Dade.
On Saturday the Titans held the Falcons scoreless for the first 38 minutes of the contest but Susu Roberts scored the first of her two goals with six minutes and 33 seconds left in the first half.
Down 1-0, Reese Garcia Roman would score with 2:10 left in the half as the Titans trailed 2-0 at halftime.
The lead would increase to 3-0 a little over a minute into the second half.
A foul in the box on Sejane Anderson led to a penalty kick and Akelia Johnson stepped to the line and hit a shot that Daytona State's Julianna Trujillo stopped but the ball trickled in front of the goal and Johnson deposited it into the back of the net.
It was just the fourth goal that Trujillo has allowed this season.
