The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team opens the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament Thursday at 5 p.m.
The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team will open the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament Thursday at 5 p.m. in Evans, Georgia.
The Titans are the No. 3 seed in the tournament at 9-0-1 and will open pool play against No. 10 Kansas City Kansas Community College. Eastern Florida State College is the South Atlantic champion and is 9-0-1 overall while Kansas City Kansas is 12-2-1 overall and received an at-large bid out of the Midwest.
Kansas City Kansas is led offensively by the duo of Corrine Hughes and Katharina Oelshlager who have 12 and 11 goals respectively this season.
Julieta Limardo leads the Titans with 11 goals this season while goalkeeper Marcelle Thedinga has a .944 save percentage with seven shutouts.
The Titans will play No. 6 seed Laramie County College Friday at 5 p.m. The winner of the pool will advance to the national tournament semifinals on Monday, June 7.
Blanchard Woods Park has five grass fields and fans can attend games for $10 per day or $50 for the entire tournament. Games will be played at either the stadium field or Field #4 for pool play games with the semifinals and final at the stadium. The park will also be hosting the Division II National Championship Tournament next week.
