Women's soccer team ties Polk State in weather-shortened game

The weather rolled into Orlando Health Stadium in the second half, ending the Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team's game with Polk State College early on Wednesday night.
Eastern Florida State College ended with a 0-0 tie with 18 minutes and 15 seconds left in the game when the lightning and rain came, ending the game in a tie.
The second-ranked Titans put pressure on Polk State College right from the beginning as they had a couple of good chances in the first five minutes of the contest.
But Polk State was able to hold the Titans in check despite EFSC outshooting the Eagles 16-1 in the first half.
It was the first game of the season that the Titans have not scored at least two goals and ended the regular season 7-0-1.
Eastern Florida State College recognized six sophomores before the game as Sofie Soerum, Marthe Taugbol, Cara Young, Julieta Limardo, Brazil Clark and Versailles Clark played their final regular-season game for the Titans.
The Titans are the No. 1 seed in the Region 8 Tournament which opens May 13 at Daytona State College. Eastern Florida State College will play the winner of the Polk State-Daytona State College game in the final.
The Region 8 Tournament champion will advance to the district tournament.
