The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team opened the regular season Friday night with a shutout in Illinois.
The second-ranked Titans picked up a 4-0 victory against Southwestern Illinois College at SIU-Edwardsville.
Alba Alvarez scored her first two goals as a Titan and Alexia Spencer also scored her first goal in the win. Paula Garrido also had a goal and an assist in the win. Jess DeBiasse, Brazil Clark and Cara Young also had assists in the win.
Marcelle Thedinga recorded her first clean sheet of the season, making three saves and defender Kurumi Awakama was outstanding in her first start.
The Titans will play at No. 3 Lewis & Clark on Sunday at 11 a.m.
