Unbeaten women's soccer team prepared for big week in Wyoming
The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team is in Wyoming for a couple of big games this week
The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team is stepping out of its comfort zone this week, traveling to Wyoming for two soccer games this week.
The Titans, who are No. 1 in the NJCAA poll for the 16th straight week, will play No. 5 Laramie County Community College as well as Otero Junior College during the trip.
But it isn't just the travel and teams that will test the Titans.
"I have never been to Wyoming before but I hear it will be really cold and that the altitude change will make it harder to breathe so it will be a test for everyone," said Kelsey Kiely who is from England and taking her first trip to Wyoming.
Noreen Ericksen is from Norway so the colder weather will be a welcome sight and she is excited to see another part of the United States.
"It's going to be fun seeing more of the United States. I don't know much about Wyoming, but it will be a little colder and so I get to feel that I hope," Ericksen said. "My friend stayed in Denver for a year and she said it was very familiar to Norway. The temperature, landscape and everything was pretty similar."
The big games are also no stranger to the Titans, who have already faced three ranked teams this season and are a perfect 8-0 coming into the week.
"When you play the good teams, it just makes you better. You see what we have to work on and what we are actually good at. We are going to face some tough teams. I think it will be a good test," Noreen Eriksen said.
The Titans will play 9-2-2 Otero Junior College at 2 p.m. Thursday and Laramie County (12-1-1) at 6 p.m. on Friday and are confident heading into the matchups.
"We are really clicking together now, everyone is so close. The performances are getting better each time out," Kiely said.
