The No. 1-nationally ranked Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team remained unbeaten with a 3-2 victory over Darton State College Friday night at Titan Soccer Complex.
Freshman Darien Davis scored twice including the game winner and had an assist on Bunny Shaw's goal in the win.
Davis' first goal came in the 41st minute as she managed to keep the ball from Darton State goalkeeper Abby Whiteside, turned took a dribble and hit a shot into the far corner.
Darton State would answer 30 seconds into the second half as Brittanie Evans took a rebound and scored.
With time winding down head coach Jeff Carr moved Shaw to the front and it paid off as the sophomore settled a high pass, turned and put it in the corner of the net.
"We gambled toward the end there, but it was nip and tuck and we weren't playing well," Eastern Florida State College women's soccer coach Jeff Carr said.
A minute and 40 seconds later Davis gave the Titans a 3-1 lead as she once again beat the goalie who had come out and scored.
"It's my favorite type of scoring, I love beating the goalkeeper," Davis said. "It is something I have practiced since I was in high school."
The Titans are now 5-0 and will host Polk State on Monday night. Game time is 6 p.m. and admission is free.
