Women's golf team places sixth at national tournament

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team finished in sixth place at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament on Thursday in Illinois.
The Titans shot a 314 in the final round and their sixth-place finish ties the best finish in program history.
Eastern Florida State College had three players make the All-America third team with their performance at the national tournament.
Freshman Blair Powers shot a 5-over 76 and finished the tournament tied for 13th overall with a 311 at Oakwood Country Club.
Sophomores Ann Burel and Mila Tang both finished the tournament tied for 18th and were named to the All-America team.
Burel finished with a 4-over 75 while Tang shot an 80. It is the second straight season that Tang was named to the All-America team.
Margaux Blais finished tied for 41st in her first national tournament, shooting an 84 in the final round. Teammate Vivian Luu shot an 83 for the second straight round.
"Not what we had in mind, we just struggled all week and never found any form," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "The team played hard and fought from Day 1 but we were off the whole time."
Daytona State College edged Odessa College for the national title.
