The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team is in fourth place after the first round of the NJCAA Division I National Tournament at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Illinois.
The Titans shot a 310 in the first round on Monday and trails Seminole State College by one stroke for third place.
Mila Tang and Margaux Blais each shot 4-pver 75 as both made the turn at 1-over. They are tied for seventh overall. Teammate Ann Burel rebounded after a tough first hole to shoot 7-over 78 and is tied for 21st.
Blair Powers shot an 82 while Vivian Luu had an 85.
"The greens are very difficult, we need to get off to a better start and figure out the putting and chipping," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Solid play by Mila and Margaux today."
Odessa College leads the tournament by one stroke over Daytona State College, shooting a 303 in the first round.
Eastern Florida State College will tee off Tuesday morning in the second round of the tournament.
