The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team won the Pfeiffer Spring Invite for the first win of the spring on Tuesday.
The Titans shot a 299 in the final round to top the field with a 603 for the two rounds. Virginia Wesleyan finished in second place with Christopher Newport third in Sunset Beach, North Carolina.
Sophomore Ann Burel picked up the individual victory for her first win of the spring season. Burel birdied three of the final four holes to shoot 2-under 70 in the final round and win the tournament by two strokes.
Burel started on the back nine and made the turn one over after a birdie on No. 17. Then she would par the first five holes before making birdies on 6,7 and 8 to finish the front nine in 33.
Teammate Mila Tang finished in third place after shooting even par 72 in the final round. Tang made the turn at 2-under but was at 2-over until birdies on the final two holes gave her the 72.
Blair Powers finished in sixth place with a 77 for the second straight round while teammate Vivian Luu finished in seventh with an 80. Konstanze Anglett shot an 84 and finished tied for 15th.
"Awesome comeback by Ann and steady play by Mila. We are strong at the top three positions and we need to just keep improving with our short game and scoring and we can be really competitive," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said.
The women's golf team will play in the USCB Monument Golf Oldfield Invitational on May 16-17.
