Women's golf team places fifth at Roadrunner Invitational
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team finished fifth at the Roadrunner Invitational in Georgia
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team placed fifth at the Roadrunner Invitational at Nob North Golf Course in Cohutta, Georgia.
The Titans shot a 326 in the final round to finish the three-round event at 968.
Sophomore Elise Boccabella tied for 13th overall, shooting a 3-over 75 in the final round. Teammate Valeria Fort struggled in the final round and placed tied for 23rd overall. Gabrielle Fernandez shot an 80 and placed tied for 33rd while Olivia Timpy was 43rd and Kira Shellman tied for 45th overall.
"We just struggled all day. Elise and Gabby hung in there well but again adjusting to the course was missing," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "We have a few days to rest and get ready for the regional tournament at Duran."
Host Dalton State won the tournament, shooting a 303 in the final round to beat Keiser University.
The Titans will host the Region 8 Tournament Saturday and Sunday at Duran Golf Club.
