Women's golf team finishes seventh in final fall event
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team placed seventh in the Flagler Fall Slam
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team wrapped up the fall season Tuesday afternoon at the Flagler Fall Slam at Marsh Creek Country Club in St. Augustine.
The Titans struggled in the final round, shooting 326 as a team to finish seventh overall.
"We just didn't play well today," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "It was a struggle from start to finish. The offseason will give us time to work on our short game and approach shots before the spring season."
Sophomore Delia Timpy finished tied for 15th overall after shooting an 81 in the final round while Elise Boccabella and Kira Shellman both tied for 27th in the tournament. Gabrielle Fernandez was 34th and Olivia Timpy finished 35th.
Limestone University shot a 296, the best round of the tournament, in the final round to defeat Seminole State for the team title. Minori Nagano of Seminole State College won the individual title in a playoff.
The women's golf team will now prepare for the spring season which will begin in January.
