The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team picked up a big Citrus Conference win on the road Saturday.
The Titans rallied from a slow start to defeat Hillsborough Community College 71-54 and improve to 6-10 in the conference.
Hillsborough came out red hot and built a 15-point lead after the first quarter. They would hit their sixth 3-pointer to kick off the second quarter and give the Hawks an 18-point lead.
But the Titans went on a run of their own, scoring the next 11 points and cut into the lead, outscoring the Hawks 15-9.
They came out of halftime trailing by nine and tied things up on an Angela Mirkovic basket at 38-38. Late in the third quarter the Titans would take the lead on a Milica Lazarevic 3-pointer, giving Eastern Florida State College a 46-45 lead. They would hit another 3-pointer and headed to the fourth leading 49-45.
The Titans continued to play well in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Hawks 22-9 to pick up the win.
Ofir Parpara finished with 24 points while Lazarevic and Mirkovic each had 16 in the win. Eastern Florida State College took two of three against Hillsborough this season as the two teams are vying for spots in the state tournament.
The women's basketball team will head to Daytona State College to face the Falcons Wednesday at 5 p.m. before ending the regular season next Saturday at St. Petersburg College.
