Women's basketball team heads to Miami for conference game Saturday

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will hit the road for another key Citrus Conference game on Saturday afternoon.
The Titans will travel to Miami to play Miami Dade College at 2 p.m. Eastern Florida State College is coming off a victory against No. 23 Daytona State College and are a win out of fourth place in the conference standings.
Miami Dade College is 8-4 in the conference and is in third place in the standings. The Sharks have won the first two meetings against the Titans and are coming off a victory against Hillsborough Community College.
Eastern Florida State College's Milica Lazarevic has been on a hot streak the past three games, averaging 26 points in those three games and had a season-high 29 points in the win against Daytona State College. For the season the freshman is averaging 15.6 points per game. Teammate Bruna DaSilva is averaging 13.5 points per game and Shadia Lara Santacruz is averaging 10 points.
The Sharks are led by Meredith Venner who is second in the FCSAA in scoring, averaging 19.4 points and leads the state in rebounding, grabbing 12.6 per game. Venner has recorded 16 double-doubles and has had at least 14 rebounds in five of the past six games. Against Daytona State College, the freshman had 33 points and 18 rebounds and then 12 points and 16 rebounds in win against Hillsborough.
Eastern Florida State College will return to Titan Field House on Wednesday evening for a conference game against Santa Fe College beginning at 5:30 p.m.
