The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team fell short against Florida Southwestern in a Citrus Conference game Saturday at Titan Field House.
Grace Strickland hit a 3-pointer in the final seconds but time ran out as the Titans fell to the Bucs, 73-71.
Florida Southwestern finished the first quarter on an 8-0 run and led 28-16 but Eastern Florida State College came out in the second quarter as Bruna DaSilva hit a basket and was fouled. DaSilva hit the free throw and cut the lead to under 10. An 8-0 run would cause Florida Southwestern to call timeout.
Milica Lazarevic hit a 3-pointer to tie the game 38-38 and the Titans would head to halftime trailing by two points.
Florida Southwestern fell behind by seven at the end of the third quarter and built it back to 10 points early in the fourth quarter.
But Shadia Lara Santacruz started a run with two free throws as they cut it to a five-point game The Strickland 3-pointer cut the lead to two points.
Lazarevic had 23 points while Santacruz had 20 points while DaSilva finished with 13 in the game.
Eastern Florida State College will be back at home for a conference game against Daytona State College on Wednesday night. The game will tip off at 5:30 p.m. at Titan Field House and admission is free. Wednesday's game will be shown live on WEFS-TV and online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
