Women's basketball team hosts FSW in conference game Saturday
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team is back home Saturday for a Citrus Conference game against Florida Southwestern
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will host Florida Southwestern on Saturday afternoon in a Citrus Conference game.
The Titans, who are coming off a conference win on Wednesday, will be home for the fourth straight game on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Florida Southwestern comes into the contest 7-3 and in second place in the conference standings. The Bucs defeated Hillsborough Community College 65-61 on Wednesday and are 14-8 overall heading into the second meeting of the season with the Titans.
In the first meeting, the Bucs defeated Eastern Florida State College 65-45, scoring 42 points in the second half to pull away from the Titans in Fort Myers. Chelsea Bishop had 18 points and 11 rebounds in the game for the Bucs.
Bishop leads the team in scoring this season, averaging 14.9 points per game in 19 games. Teammate Destinie Gordon is averaging 10.3 points and is tied for fourth in the FCSAA in rebounding, averaging 9.3 rebounds per game.
Eastern Florida State College beat St. Petersburg College 78-58 as Milica Lazarevic scored 26 points and Ofir Parpara added 17 in the win. It was Lazarevic's second straight game scoring in double figures since her return from an ankle injury. Lazarevic is averaging 13.9 points per game this season while teammate Bruna DaSilva is averaging 13.3 points.
Saturday's game will begin at 2 p.m. and admission is free to games at Titan Field House. The game will also be shown live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
