The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team fell to Miami Dade College in a Citrus Conference game on Saturday at Titan Field House.
The Titans fell to the Sharks 83-73 as the Sharks took advantage of fouls and turnovers.
Eastern Florida State College got off to a fast start, leading 17-8 after Grace Strickland hit a 3-pointer. But Miami Dade would finish the quarter on a 12-2 run to lead 20-19 at the first break.
The Sharks continued to play well in the second quarter and went into halftime 51-35.
The Titans came out strong in the third quarter, starting on an 11-0 run as the lead was cut to five. Eastern Florida State College would head to the fourth quarter trailing 61-56.
Fouls and turnovers caught up with the Titans in the fourth quarter as Miami Dade took 33 free throws in the game and the Titans had 28 turnovers.
Shadia Lara Santacruz finished with a double-double, scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds while Ofir Parpara finished with a team-high 16 points. Bruna DaSilva had 11 points while Angela Mirkovic and Milica Lazarevic each had 10 points.
Constanza Aravena finished with a team-high 26 points while Jazmyne Bynum had 22 points.
Eastern Florida State College will be home on Wednesday evening for a conference game against St. Petersburg College. The game will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the game will be shown live on WEFS-TV. Admission to games at Titan Field House is free.
