The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will be back at home on Saturday afternoon for a Citrus Conference game.
The Titans will host third-place Miami Dade College at 2 p.m. Saturday at Titan Field House. It will be the second meeting between the teams this season with Miami Dade taking the first meeting, 76-71 in overtime.
Miami Dade's Constanza Aravena hit the game-tying 3-pointer in the final seconds to force overtime and then the Sharks outscored the Titans 11-6 in overtime to pick up the win.
Aravena had 17 points in the win while Meredith Venner had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds while teammate Azjannie Culberth had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Venner is averaging 19.1 points and 12.3 rebounds this season. The 12.3 rebounds leads the FCSAA while the 19.1 points is second in the state. Teammate Jazmyne Bynum is third in the state in scoring, averaging 18 points per game and is leading the FCSAA in assists (103) and steals (61).
Eastern Florida State College is coming off a win against Hillsborough Community College and is now 2-5 in the conference. Angela Mirkovic had 22 points against Miami Dade in the first meeting and is averaging 9.8 points per game. Teammates Bruna DaSilva and Milica Lazarevic are each averaging 13 points per game.
The Sharks are 6-3 in the conference and 12-7 overall and have won seven of the past eight games, falling to Florida Southwestern on Wednesday.
