The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team lost a Citrus Conference game on the road Wednesday night.
The Titans fell to Florida Southwestern 65-45.
The Titans led most of the first quarter but Florida Southwestern took the lead with three minutes left but it would not last as Bruna DaSilva would hit a pair of free throws to give the Titans a 10-9 lead with one minute and 32 seconds left in the quarter. Milica Lazarevic would make one of two free throws and the teams were tied 11-11 after one quarter. DaSilva finished with five of the team's 11 points.
Eastern Florida State College scored the first four points of the second quarter but went cold as Florida Southwestern went into halftime with a five-point lead.
Florida Southwestern continued to grow its lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Titans 21-14 in the quarter.
Eastern Florida State College came out shooting in the fourth quarter as Lazarevic and DaSilva hit back-to-back 3-pointers and then Ofir Parpara hit one to cut the lead to six, 47-41. But a 3-pointer by Kiara Harris put the lead back to double digits.
DaSilva led the Titans with 11 points while teammate Grace Strickland had nine points, six rebounds and five assists. Both Parpara and Lazarevic finished with eight points in the loss.
Eastern Florida State College falls to 6-12 overall and 1-5 in the conference. The Titans will be back at Titan Field House on Saturday afternoon, hosting Hillsborough Community College at 2 p.m. Admission to women's basketball games is free and fans can watch the game live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
