Women's basketball team heads to FSW for conference game Wednesday
The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team will hit the road for a Citrus Conference game at Florida Southwestern State College on Wednesday evening
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will hit the road for a Citrus Conference game at Florida Southwestern State College on Wednesday evening.
The Titans, who are 6-11 overall and 1-4 in the conference, are coming off their first conference win on Saturday as they held off Santa Fe College 50-48 on Saturday.
Freshman Angela Mirkovic has had a couple of big games for the Titans, averaging 20.5 points and five rebounds the past week. Teammate Ofir Parpara is averaging 16 points per game the past five games and has had at least seven rebounds in four of the five games.
Bruna DaSilva leads the team, averaging 13.8 points per game this season.
Florida Southwestern is 11-6 overall and 4-1 in the conference, falling for the first time this season on Saturday against Daytona State College. Chelsea Bishop is leading the Bucs this season, scoring 14.3 points per game while teammate Destinie Gordon is averaging 10.5 points. Gordon is second in the FCSAA in rebounding, averaging 9.9 per game. The XXX was named the FCSAA Player of the Week on Tuesday.
