Women's basketball team loses to Miami Dade in overtime

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team lost in overtime Wednesday night at Titan Field House.
Up four with 19 seconds left, Miami Dade College hit a couple of big 3-pointers to tie the game and then won 76-71 in overtime.
Constanza Aravena hit a 3-pointer with 13 seconds left to make it 64-62. After the Titans hit one of two free throws, the Sharks came down and Azjannie Culbreath would tie the game with two seconds left with a 3-pointer.
In overtime, Miami Dade took control scoring seven straight points before an Angela Mirkovic 3-pointer. Ofir Parpara would hit a 3-pointer with 26 seconds left to cut the lead to three, but they could not even things back up.
Things started off well for the Titans who led 18-11 after the first quarter behind the strong start by Bruna DaSilva who scored eight points in the quarter.
They would head into halftime with a 10-point lead but the Sharks would make a run in the fourth quarter.
Mirkovic finished with a season-high 22 points, five rebounds and six blocks to lead the Titans while teammate Bruna DaSilva had 17 points. Grace Strickland had her first double-double with 10 points and 12 assists while Parpara also had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. She also had six assists in the game. It was the second double-double of the season for Parpara.
Meredith Venner finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds while both Culbreath and Aravena finished with 17 points.
Eastern Florida State College, who is now 5-11 overall and 0-4 in the conference will travel to Santa Fe College on Saturday for a conference game beginning at 2 p.m.
