Women's basketball team falls on the road Saturday
The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team lost to No. 24 Daytona State College 68-55 Saturday in a Citrus Conference game
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team fell short on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Titans lost to No. 24 Daytona State College 68-55 to fall to 5-10 overall and 0-3 in the Citrus Conference.
The Titans had a strong first quarter as the teams traded baskets throughout and trailed by just one point heading into the second quarter.
Daytona State College went on a 16-4 run in the second quarter and went into halftime with a 38-27 lead over the Titans.
Eastern Florida State came out fast in the third quarter as Grace Strickland and Ofir Parpara each hit 3-pointers and then Angela Mirkovic scored to cause Daytona State to call timeout as the Titans cut the lead to 38-35. It would remain close throughout the third quarter as Parpara scored seven of her 11 points in the third.
Daytona State College would pull away in the fourth quarter to improve to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
Bruna DaSilva led the Titans with 16 points and grabbed five rebounds. Strickland finished with 10 points and five assists. Parpara had a team-high seven rebounds as well as seven steals in the game.
Lamiyah Hogans had 19 points for the Falcons.
Eastern Florida State College will be back home on Wednesday evening, hosting Miami Dade College in a Citrus Conference game beginning at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free to games at Titan Field House and fans can watch the game live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
