The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team lost to No. 11 Shelton State Community College in the final game of the Lady Jets Holiday Classic in Americus Georgia.
The Titans fell behind after a quick start and could not catch Shelton State, falling 80-56 on Wednesday afternoon.
Eastern Florida State College jumped out to a 6-0 lead and led 8-7 before going cold as Shelton State went on a 9-0 run to finish the first quarter leading 16-8.
It was all Shelton State in the second quarter, going into halftime with a commanding 40-15 lead.
But as they have the entire tournament, the Titans responded in the second half and cut into the lead with a big fourth quarter from Bruna DaSilva.
DaSilva scored 12 of her team-high 23 points in the fourth quarter while teammate Ofir Parpara finished with 18 points, 16 coming in the second half.
Shelton State was led by Haley Trotter who had 17 points as 10 players scored for the Bucs.
Eastern Florida State College will return to Citrus Conference play on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Daytona State College for a 2 p.m. game against the 24th ranked Falcons.
