The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team stormed back to pick up a win in the first game of the Lady Jets Holiday Classic in Georgia on Monday.
Alayna Lherisse hit a 3-pointer in the final seconds to tie the game 64-64 and the Titans would defeat Cleveland Community College 77-69 in overtime.
The Titans were down 46-28 when Bruna DaSilva would score seven straight points as the Titans would finish the third quarter on a 16-5 run.
Eastern Florida State College would continue to cut into the lead as Grace Strickland and DaSilva each hit 3-pointers to cut the lead to one point, 62-61. After a couple of free throws, the Titans had one last chance. As the clock was winding down, Lherisse took a pass from Strickland, turned and hit the 3-pointer to tie the game. It was her only basket of the game.
In overtime DaSilva hit another 3-pointer to give Eastern Florida State College their first lead since the first quarter. Angela Mirkovic made a couple of big baskets to give the Titans a five-point lead and they went on to post the victory.
DaSilva finished with a career-high 31 points while Strickland had a season-high 15 points and Shadia Lara Santacruz finished with 12.
Eastern Florida State College, who is now 5-7 on the season, will play host South Georgia Tech on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
