Women's basketball team falls to Santa Fe on the road

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team lost a Citrus Conference game on the road Wednesday evening.
The Titans, who are 4-7 overall and 0-2 in the conference after losing to Santa Fe College 65-46 in Gainesville.
Eastern Florida State College got off to a bit of a slow start again but rebounded behind the play of Shadaria Lara Santacruz who scored eight of the team's 15 points as the Titans trailed by two, 17-15 after one quarter.
The Titans took the lead on Ofir Parpara's 3-pointer midway through the first half and they led the rest of the quarter. Parpara hit another 3-pointer at the buzzer right before halftime and had eight points at halftime.
The Third quarter saw Santa Fe get hot as they scored 29 points in the quarter and would lead by 20 points heading to the fourth quarter.
The Titans tried to rally in the fourth quarter behind Bruna DaSilva who had eight of her team-high 15 points in the quarter. But another big 3-pointer with 1:29 remaining ended the run and the Saints went on to pick up the win.
Santacruz had 12 points in the contest.
Eastern Florida State College will take a break for the holiday before going to Georgia for the Lady Jets Holiday Classic Dec. 29-31. The Titans will play Southern Union State Community College, South Georgia Technical College as well as Shelton State.
