The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team fell short against Pensacola State College Friday evening at Gulf Coast State College.
The Titans, who are 4-4 overall, lost to Pensacola 56-49 in a game that was a one-possession game with two minutes to go. But Pensacola would score six of the final seven points to pick up the win.
Eastern Florida State College got off to a poor start and trailed 32-16 at halftime but would score nine of the first 11 points in the third quarter and get back into the game. Bruna DaSilva had 10 points in the third quarter and finished with a team-high 20 points in the game.
Down eight to start the fourth quarter the Titans continued to cut into the lead and with three minutes left Milica Lazarevic hit a 3-pointer to cut the lead to four. After a miss by Pensacola, Angela Mirkovic made a basket to cut the lead to 50-48 with under two minutes left but that was as close as the Titans would get.
Lazarevic finished with 11 points in the game.
Eastern Florida State College will be back in action tomorrow, facing host and No. 4 Gulf Coast State College at 3 p.m.
