The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will head to Panama City for a couple of games this weekend.
The Titans, who are now 4-3 after Tuesday's win, will play Pensacola State College Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Gulf Coast State College. Pensacola State College won the first meeting last Saturday at Pensacola 56-45. Pensacola is now 8-3 heading into the weekend. Bruna DaSilva had a season-high 18 points in the game while Tamya Hutchinson had a game-high 19 points.
Freshman Milica Lazarevic leads the team averaging 14.6 points per game and 6.8 rebounds while teammate Shadia Lara Santacruz and DaSilva are each averaging 11 points.
Then on Saturday afternoon the Titans will play host Gulf Coast State College who is 8-1 and ranked fourth in the latest NJCAA Division I National Poll.
It will be the first meeting between the two teams this season who last met in the FCSAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship quarterfinals last season with the Titans getting the win.
The Commodores are led by Arianny Francisco De Oliveira who is leading the state averaging 22 points per game. Teammate Anjela Minja leads the state in blocks with 20 this year.
