Women's basketball team to compete at Pensacola Thanksgiving Classic

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will play in the Pensacola Thanksgiving Classic this weekend.
The Titans, who are 3-1 on the season, will play No. 5 Northwest Florida State College on Friday and then host Pensacola State College on Saturday.
Northwest Florida State College comes into the tournament 7-1 and is averaging 80.3 points per game this season. The fifth-ranked Raiders are the defending national champions and are 3-0 in neutral court games this year. Khoudia Diagne is one of the top scorers in the state to start the season, averaging 15.4 points in eight games this season. The freshman is also averaging 9.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
Friday's game will be at 4:30 p.m. in Pensacola.
Then on Saturday the Titans will face host Pensacola who is 7-2 to start the tournament and has won two in a row.
Point guard Tamya Hutchinson is averaging 18.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for the Pirates. Saturday's game will tip off at 3 p.m.
Freshman Milica Lazarevic was named the FCSAA Division I Player of the Week on Monday and is averaging 20 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in the two games she has played for the Titans. Teammate Shadia Lara Santacruz is averaging 13 points and 5.8 rebounds in four games.
Eastern Florida State College will be back at home on Tuesday, Dec. 2 against Tallahassee State College for a 5:30 p.m. game before starting the conference season.
