Women's basketball team picks up win in home opener

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team won their home opener against South Georgia Tech Friday at Titan Field House.
The Titans improved to 3-1 on the season with the 80-64 victory.
Eastern Florida State College jumped out to a 6-1 lead and led 19-13 after the first quarter. Milica Lazarevic and Aniyah Johnson had eight and seven points respectively in the second quarter as the Titans led 42-35 at halftime.
They would move the lead to 10 points in the third quarter but it was the fourth quarter that saw the Titans pull away for the win, scoring 23 points in the fourth quarter.
Lazarevic led the Titans attack with 26 points while Johnson finished with 17 in the win. Teammates Angela Mirkovic had 14 points while Shadia Lara Santacruz scored 12.
Taja Bennett led South Georgia Tech with 23 points.
South Georgia Tech will play Daytona State College on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Titan Field House. Eastern Florida State College will play No. 5 Northwest Florida State College on Friday in the Pensacola Thanksgiving Classic at 4:30 p.m. The Titans will play host Pensacola State College at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
