The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will open the regular season this weekend at the Battle on the Beach Blvd Tournament in Jacksonville.
The Titans will open the season Friday afternoon, playing Catawba Valley Community College at 2 p.m. at the Florida State College at Jacksonville. Eastern Florida State College have won at least 27 games in each of the past three seasons under head coach MJ Baker and begin the regular season ranked No. 20 in the NJCAA Division I National Poll. Lynn Rieth, Ashleigh Battle, Silvia Otokhagua and E'Zaria Adams are all back from last season.
The Red Hawks are coming off a down season but had a .500 record or better in each of the seven seasons before that.
On Saturday, Eastern Florida State College will once again be on the court at 2 p.m. at FSC-Jacksonville when they will play Southern Crescent Technical College. They opened the season against Southern Crescent Technical College in the season opener last season at Jacksonville.
"We are stoked that the season is finally here, knowing that anything is possible. I can't wait to see these young women put all of their hard work and dedication to the test," Eastern Florida State College women's basketball coach MJ Baker said. "Right now our focus is on bringing energy, passion and resilience every single day. We are ready to compete and give this season everything we have."
The Titans will play seven games on the road before being home on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
