Women's basketball team opens conference season today

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team opens their conference season Saturday on the road.

The Titans have moved to the Central Conference this season and will open against St. Petersburg College, who is 1-0 after picking up a conference-opening win against the Florida State College at Jacksonville. It was also St. Petersburg's season opener while EFSC is 2-2 on the season and are coming off a tough loss at Indian River State College.

The women have four players averaging at least 10 points per game led by sophomore Stephanie Torres.

Kiarra Kennedy and Brittany Wilcox led St. Petersburg In the season opener as Kennedy finished with 11 and Wilcox had 10.

The women's game will tip off at 2 p.m. in St. Petersburg.
