Softball team hits road for conference doubleheader Tuesday

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will begin their six-game road trip Tuesday, travelling to Polk State College for a Citrus Conference doubleheader.
The 10th-ranked Titans are looking to get back on track after a tough weekend and are now 16-10 in the conference. Polk State College is 5-5 in the past 10 games and sits 10-16 in the conference standings.
Eastern Florida State College is second in the FCSAA in runs scored with 332 and are hitting .360 as a team which is also second in the state. Both teams are in the top six in home runs this season as the Titans have 33 while the Eagles have 30.
Annalyn Duncan is tied for first in the FCSAA with 60 RBI and is hitting .402 this season. Teammate Aracelis Jimenez is leading the Titans, hitting .419 in 42 games. Jaelynne Whipple is hitting an even .400 with eight triples.
On the mound, Avery Velazquez is 7-4 with a 1.35 ERA this season while teammate Isabella Rosales is 9-2 with a 1.90.
Polk State College is led by Chelsi Rae' Hebert who is hitting .344 in 57 games with nine home runs and 51 RBI.
The conference doubleheader begins at 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Polk State College. It is the first of three doubleheaders on the road before the Titans return home on April 25.
