Softball team hosts Seminole State in top 15 matchup
The Eastern Florida State College softball team will host Seminole State College in a Citrus Conference doubleheader Tuesday at Titan Softball Complex
The Eastern Florida State College softball team will host Seminole State College in a Citrus Conference doubleheader in a matchup of top 15 teams in the nation.
The 10th-ranked Titans, who are 14-6 in the conference, are coming off a dominating sweep on Saturday and are looking to win the season series against Seminole State College.
Seminole State College is 15th in the latest NJCAA Division I National Poll but has lost the past three games. The Raiders are 11-9 in the conference and have 22 wins this season.
The Titans won the first two meetings this season in February, 7-6 and then 20-0.
Eastern Florida State College is hitting .380 this season and comes into the doubleheader with 309 runs scored which are both in the top 11 in the nation. Second baseman Annalyn Duncan is tied for fourth in the nation in runs batted in with 59 and is hitting .398 this season. Teammate Aracelis Jimenez is hitting a team-leading .445 and has a hit in 13 of the past 14 games, scoring 51 runs this season.
Seminole State College's Julianna Nieves comes into the matchup hitting .410 with 13 home runs which is tied for second in the FCSAA.
The doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex and admission is free. Fans can also watch the doubleheader live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
