Softball team back home Tuesday for conference doubleheader
The Eastern Florida State College softball team will be home for a Citrus Conference doubleheader against Daytona State College on Tuesday afternoon
The Eastern Florida State College softball team will be home for a Citrus Conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon.
The 10th ranked Titans will play No. 20 Daytona State College in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex.
Eastern Florida State College has won four straight games and are 6-4 in the conference. The Titans are hitting .392 as a team which is second in the FCSAA and have scored 234 runs in 26 games this season. Aracelis Jimenez leads the team, hitting .463 in 26 games and has a team-leading 17 stolen bases.
Annalyn Duncan leads the FCSAA in runs batted in with 45 which is also fourth in the country. The second baseman is coming off another big week for the Titans and is hitting .443.
Daytona State College is 9-5 in the conference and are 6-1 in the past seven games including a pair of wins against St. Petersburg College on Friday. The Falcons have scored 206 runs in 34 games and are hitting .327, which is ninth in the state. Juleah Patterson leads the Falcons with a .467 batting average in 33 games with 11 stolen bases while Azlynn Gomes is hitting .392 with 36 RBI which is fifth in the FCSAA.
On the mound, Ava Unser is 12-3 with nine complete games and a 2.27 ERA in 15 starts. Unser's 12 wins is tied for the most in the FCSAA and her 96 strikeouts is second in the state.
