The Eastern Florida State College softball team will host No. 4 ranked Florida Southwestern State College in a Citrus Conference doubleheader on Saturday.
The Titans, who are coming off a couple of losses to No. 5 Indian River State College on Thursday, will now host Florida Southwestern beginning at 1 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex.
Florida Southwestern has won six in a row and is 7-1 in the conference standings while the Titans are now 4-2.
The Bucs are second in the FCSAA in team ERA with a 1.13 and have two pitchers in the top three in ERA this season as Lizzy Kwakernaak has a 0.88 ERA while teammate Zoe Yzaguirre is right behind her with a 0.94 ERA.
The Titans come into the doubleheader leading the FCSAA in batting average, hitting .418 heading into Saturday's matchup. Jaelynne Whipple is hitting .523 this season while Aracelis Jimenez is hitting .509. Teammate Annelynne Duncan is tied for first in the state in runs batted in with 38.
It will be the first meeting of the season between the two programs as the Titans come into the matchup ranked sixth in the national poll.
