The Eastern Florida State College softball team's doubleheader with Indian River State College was postponed until Thursday.
The game was supposed to be Tuesday at Indian River but early rain forced it to be moved to Thursday. The teams will play at 4 and 6 p.m.
The Titans, who are ranked sixth in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, are 4-0 in the Citrus Conference and will face Indian River State College who is ranked fifth and comes into the doubleheader 1-1 in the conference.
It will be a matchup of two of the hottest hitting teams in the FCSAA as the Titans come into the matchup leading the state with a .418 batting average while Indian River State College is third with a .377 average.
The Titans have scored 190 runs in 18 games which is third in the state and fourth in the nation. Annalyn Duncan heads into the week with 38 runs batted in which is tied for the lead in the FCSAA and is tied for third in the nation. Teammate Jaelynne Whipple is hitting .523 which is fifth in the state.
Indian River State College has two players in the top five in stolen bases as Anaise Piar has 19 stolen bases while Braylee Shields has 18. Indian River State College is second in the nation with 88 stolen bases. Jaci Alvey is leading the state in batting average, hitting .557 this season.
The Titans will be back at Titan Softball Complex for a conference doubleheader against Florida Southwestern State College on Saturday afternoon. The doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. and admission is free.
