Softball team hits road Saturday for doubleheader

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will hit the road for the first time this spring for a doubleheader on Saturday.
The Titans, who are 6-0 on the season, will travel to the Florida State College at Jacksonville for a couple of games beginning at 2 p.m.
Eastern Florida State College's offense is off to a good start as they are averaging over nine runs per game this season. Sophomore Aracelis Jimenez is leading the FCSAA in batting average, hitting .800 as she has gotten off to a 12-for-15 start with seven stolen bases and has scored 13 runs. Teammate Jessica Merk has hit three home runs and driven in 11 runs.
Isabella Rosales has won four games this season and has a 1.66 ERA.
The Florida State College at Jacksonville comes into the doubleheader 6-4 on the season and is coming off a pair of losses to Santa Fe College. Sophomore Araya Stearns is 10-for-19 with a couple of triples this season while teammate Peyton Studt has driven in 10 runs. On the mound, Lily Bennett is 3-0 with a 2.15 ERA and has started twice for the Manta Rays.
Eastern Florida State College will be back at home on Feb. 17 against Florida State College at Jacksonville for a doubleheader.
