Softball team sweeps Pasco-Hernando in doubleheader at home
The Eastern Florida State College softball team improved to 6-0 with the sweep of Pasco-Hernando State College on Wednesday

The Eastern Florida State College softball team swept a doubleheader against Pasco-Hernando State College on Wednesday afternoon.
The Titans improved to 6-0 on the season with the 8-2 and 9-1 victories at Titan Softball Complex.
In Game 1, the Titans would take an early lead and then after Pasco-Hernando tied the game in the top of the fifth inning, Eastern Florida State College scored five times to pick up the 8-2 win.
Avery Velazquez hit an RBI double in the bottom of the first inning to open the scoring. In the third inning, Velazquez hit a sacrifice fly to score Aracelis Jimenez to make it 2-0.
Pasco-Hernando would tie the game 2-2 but the Titans sent nine hitters to the plate as Annalyn Duncan had a big two-run double and Velazquez had a two-run single in the inning. The Titans would add a run in the sixth inning.
Isabella Rosales picked up the win, tossing six strong innings with three strikeouts.
Jimenez went 2-for-2 with two walks, scored four times and had four stolen bases in the game while Duncan went 2-for-3 with a couple of doubles. Velazquez also finished with two hits.
In Game 2, the Titans took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a Velazquez sacrifice fly that scored Jimenez.
An RBI single in the second by Brooklyn Scott gave the Titans a 2-0 lead and they would score the third run on a groundout by Jimenez.
Up 3-1 in the fifth inning, a walk by Velazquez scored the first run as the Titans would score six runs in the inning. Scott ended the game with an RBI single.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to the Florida State College at Jacksonville for a doubleheader on Saturday.
