Softball pitcher Avery Velazquez wins Rawlings Gold Glove

Eastern Florida State College softball player Avery Velazquez has received the 2025 NJCAA Division I Rawlings Gold Glove on Wednesday afternoon.

The freshman pitcher becomes the second Titan to win the Gold Glove and the first pitcher. Velazquez finished with a .962 fielding percentage, pitching and playing first base when she wasn't on the mound.

Earlier on Wednesday Velazquez was named to the NJCAA Division I All-America First Team and was also named the NFCA NJCAA Division I All-American as well as a Gold Glove winner.

Overall, five of the nine Gold Gloves were given to players in Region 8.
