Avery Velazquez named to FCSAA Division I All-Tournament Team

Eastern Florida State College softball player Avery Velazquez was named to the FCSAA All-Tournament team after having a good Division I Championship.

The freshman from Ocoee, Florida started the first two games, picking up the win against No. 2 seed Northwest Florida State College. She finished with 17 1/3 innings, allowing five earned runs and had 15 strikeouts with three walks.

At the plate, Velazquez went 4-for-9 with a home run and four RBI.

Velazquez is the seventh Titan to be named to the FCSAA All-Tournament team.

For the season, Velazquez went 24-11 on the mound with a 1.22 ERA in 224 2/3 innings pitched. She finished with 188 strikeouts. At the plate, Velazquez hit .416 with 22 doubles, eight home runs and drove in 69 runs.

Eastern Florida State College finished the season 39-22 overall and went 1-2 in the FCSAA Division I Softball Championship in Clearwater.
