Softball team lost pair of games at FSW

The Eastern Florida State College softball team lost to No. 2 Florida Southwestern State College in a pair of Citrus Conference games on Saturday.

The 17^th ranked Titans lost the first game 8-2 and then fell 5-3 in the second game at Florida Southwestern State College.

In Game 1, Florida Southwestern scored a couple of runs in the bottom of the first inning but the Titans struck back in the top of the second as Martha Jones had an RBI single and then Kayla Fanning grounded out, scoring Ashley Corazzini to tie the game.

But the Bucs took the lead in the third inning with two runs and then scored four times in the fourth to roll to victory in Game 1.

The second game saw the Titans take the lead in the top of the first inning as Corazzini ripped a two-run double. It was one of two hits Corazzini had in the contest.

Florida Southwestern would score four times in the bottom of the first inning and took a 4-2 lead.

The Titans would cut the lead to 4-3 in the top of the fifth inning as Aracelis Jimenez grounded out, scoring Jones to cut it to 4-3. The Bucs would add a run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Eastern Florida State College will be home for the final time this regular season on Monday evening for a conference doubleheader against Indian River State College. The doubleheader will begin at 4 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex. Admission is free and fans can watch the games live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
